I had a problem with my Rockler 7” Quick Release Workbench Vise not engaging. In this video, I show how I took it apart and got it working again. This seems to be a common problem with some varieties of Quick Release vises, so hopefully someone else will be able to see what I did and get theirs working again as well.
This is my first attempt at woodturning a Christmas Ornament. The woods for the globe are maple and redheart. The finial is ebonized fir. For more info about the challenge, visit here: Challenges Big thanks to Alan Stratton and Carl Jacobson for sponsoring this challenge. I’ve only been turning a few months, and this prompted me to do several new things (like reverse turning). It has been a good experience and I’m happy to be able to contribute. In this video, I show how I replaced a defective Pressure Switch on my Air Compressor. Since a direct replacement wasn’t available, I used an “upgraded” model, which required me to re-route some of the plumbing. I also replaced the motor cord which was damaged when the switch failed. Be careful if you work on your compressor. High pressures and electricity can be dangerous, so know what you’re doing before you attempt any repairs.
In this video, I make a shoulder plane using maple and cherry. The blade is from Hock Tools. The final size is 3/4″ wide, 2 5/8″ high and about 10″ long.
