Digital Calipers for Woodworkers

I’ve used digital calipers in the shop for a while because they are easy to use and are more than accurate enough for woodworking. The only thing that could make the typical ones better is to be able to work in fractions like so many woodworking measurements use.

Finally, I got these calipers from Banggood. They only have a 6″ (150mm) capacity, but they can measure in decimal inches, millimeters, or fractions of an inch. That’s right, they can display the nearest fraction within 1/128″. That’s pretty darn handy, particularly when you are dealing with uncommon fractions.

I’ve seen calipers like this before, but at 3x this price.  Not only can these calipers display in fractions, but they’re well made of solid stainless steel. In using them, I can tell that they are accurate and produce consistent, repeatable results. I was pleased that they shipped quickly, as well.

I plan to do a video review, but in the meantime, I thought I’d go ahead and let you know here.
