Building a Wall Hanging Award Shelf

I built a wall-mounted award shelf out of a single board of quarter-sawn red oak from the home center, with rows of shop-turned pegs for hanging ribbons and a surface up top for trophies. Getting over twenty matching pegs turned out to be my first real taste of production turning, and I staggered them across three rows so the ribbons wouldn't stack right on top of each other. A two-tone golden oak stain and a spray lacquer finish tie it in with some existing furniture it's meant to match.
