DIY Wooden Router Plane

Author: Badmin

I built a router plane out of pallet wood, using an eyebolt to hold the blade and, at first, an Allen key ground down for the cutting edge. The Allen key steel turned out too thin and flexible to hold a good edge, so I ended up swapping it for a real Veritas router plane blade, which cut a world better right out of the box. I also wound up welding the eyebolt after the fact, since it was flexing too much to hold the blade steady on its own.
