Turning a Wooden Mallet using just a Skew Chisel

I turned a mallet out of a piece of firewood using nothing but a one-inch skew chisel, start to finish. The log had some cracks and loose knots that forced me to adjust the plan a few times along the way, and the outer bead edges gave me some trouble — a couple of catches I had to carefully turn away without leaving new marks. It turned out well in the end, and confirmed for me just how versatile a skew chisel can be for spindle work.
