In this video, I make a handle and assemble the Carbide Roughing Gouge kit from Rockler. This is a roughing tool, so it removes material well, although it doesn’t produce a particularly smooth finish. But not having to sharpen the tool should be a big plus!
I made the handle from laminated pallet wood and finished it with a shop-made finish that contains Boiled Linseed Oil and varnish.
